Akagare Group Tour

Akagera National Park lies in eastern Rwanda, hugging the border with Tanzania. It’s characterized by woodland, swamps, low mountains and savanna. The varied terrain shelters wildlife including zebras, giraffes, elephants, lions and hundreds of bird species, such as the rare Shoebill stork. In the southern part of the park, vast Lake Ihema is home to hippos and crocodiles.
Area: 1,200 km²
Established: 1934.

Tour Details

The hosts a diverse species, the most attractive ones being the ones dubbed “The Big Five“, which includes Lions, Buffaloes, Rhinos, Leopards, & elephants. We will explore the park by driving through for 5  – 7 Hours, and get a chance to encounter all sorts of animals in the open field, in an activity called Game Drive, where each person tries to spot their favorite animal as we drive along.

Tour Itinerary

5:00 AM Arrive at departure Location
Everyone must be at our office in Kigali, so we can depart at the same time. We can pick up people who are located nearby the route we will pass by. Avoid oversleeping so you won’t be left behind. 

9:00 AM Arrive at Akagera Entrance
We will arrive at the Akagera Entance in our 4*4 Transport. 

11:00 AM Begin the Game Drive. 
We will visit the park, and get a chance to see the Big Five and other wild animals.

Depending on your preferences you also do Birds and Birding, Boat trips, Fishing, Game drive, Self drives and if you want you can be accommodated at Akagera Game Lodge. 

4:30 PM End of Game drive. 
We end the tour and head back to Kigali.
